P+C Update
Hi all and welcome back for Term Two! Our P&C has been busy over the first few weeks of Term and are looking forward to more opportunities to connect with our school community and continue our fundraising efforts.
I would like to extend the warmest welcome to our principal Laurel Rodrigues! We are excited to have you join our school community and look forward to working with you on some fabulous initiatives.
If you are interested in joining the P&C Committee or just curious as to what we are about - Our next meeting will be on Thursday 12 June.
Make sure you follow us on Facebook or join one of the WhatsApp parent groups to stay in touch and receive updates on events hosted by the P&C.
Below is our first update for the term.
Michelle van Lier - President
Federal Election BBQ - Saturday 3 May
With a short time frame after the election as announced, some wonderful volunteers came forward to champion our BBQ stall for the Federal Election Day.
I would like to extend my thanks to Terri for coordinating and leading the team, Sam on the BBQ and committee members Meagan and Jasmaine who all contributed immensely on the day and without whom we would not have been a success. Thanksalso to our amazing volunteers Laura, Kath and Shobitha and a very warm welcome and thank you Reverend Andrew Smith and members from the Uniting Church in Molonglo.
With all hands on deck we sold nearly 1,000 sausage sandwiches on the day and raised over $5,000 in total sales. We will provide updates on our annual fundraising efforts as the year progresses.
Mother’s Day Breakfast - Friday 9 May
This is one of my favourite events of the year as we come together to celebrate all the amazing women in our lives!! On Friday of week two, we hosted a breakfast in the STEM rooms with free card making and a gift shop.
Thank you again to Terri for leading the team - committee members Jasmaine and Melanie and all the volunteers who joined the breakfast crew. We raised around $250 in total sales on the day and enjoyed sharing the activities with our wonderful school families and community.
Term Two School Disco -
Friday 27 June
The P & C is currently exploring options for a school disco on Friday 27 June 2025.
Volunteers Needed!!!
It really does take a village to host these events for our community and we need your help! If you can assist on the day to make this event extra special, please click here and register as a volunteer for the event https://forms.gle/KRHjtuEEyhbo21bPA
More details to come via socials and Seesaw.
Uniforms desperately needed!!
You may be aware the P&C runs a second hand uniform shop. Our goal is to provide good quality second hand uniforms to our families at reasonable prices. We rely on donations of uniforms to keep up our stock levels and provide this valuable service to our school community.
If you have any uniform items that your children have outgrown - you can donate them at the school front office, where our team will collect and wash them ready for sale.

Connect With Other Parents and P & C
WhatsApp groups provide another channel of information for parents and the opportunity to connect and chat with others in your child’s year group. Simply scan the QR code at the school front office using your phone camera to join the relevant group.
We are aware some families are not comfortable sharing their mobile numbers via WhatsApp. Unfortunately, this is an app setting and cannot be changed. We recommend joining our Facebook (private) group to receive regular updates. Please set notification settings for the group to All Posts so you don's miss anything.

SCHOOL SAFETY SERIES – EPISODE 3
Crossing Safety
Teaching children to cross the road safely is an important life skill. Children’s crossings are provided near schools to make it safer and easier for children to access the school. Children should be taught to make sure motorists completely stop prior to stepping onto the road.
When driving and parking around the school, please keep a lookout for pedestrians when approaching the crossing and remember to stop and allow pedestrians to clear the road completely prior to proceeding.
Never park on the approach to the crossing, it reduces visibility and safety, particularly for children who are less visible to motorists. It is also important that motorists never try to pass other cars at a crossing or queue through a crossing, this type of behaviour significantly reduces safety for children.
More information is available in this children’s crossing information sheet. Please drive slowly and be patient near the school to keep our community safe.
